ReadWorks.org
ReadWorks is a program that assists students with reading. I have used it over the years as well as shared it with peers. This website is great for finding passages related to lessons and using them in the classroom. Teachers can access different grade levels and content when searching for stories for their students to use.
ReadWorks has vocabulary and questions for each of its passages that help teachers with assessing and monitoring their students reading especially comprehension. The site allows for students to chose what interests them and will find stories related to their interest.
there are many resources for teachers and parents to chose from. the program caters to both teachers and parents. this is good as parents are getting involved in their child's education. The student log in that was added over the past couple of years made this website usable during the pandemic.
Teachers were able to assign assignments and monitor student progress. These two go hand in hand. being able to monitor student progress is important in knowing how students are progressing. Students can have their own personal library which is a plus to them. The stories provided also use questions that provide prior knowledge as they allow students to recall information. On the site, question sets can be found for teachers to use for assessments as well.
